Borden Village Pre-school
About Us
We are a well-established term time only village pre-school that operated out of Borden C of E School for more than 20 years before moving into our own purpose-built setting in 2011, when we became a non-profit making charity. We have established a good reputation within our local area and we are excited to launch our first website in September 2020!
Our Vision
At Borden Village Pre-school we strive to provide a safe, happy and stimulating learning environment in which all our children are valued as unique individuals, supported by caring, experienced and qualified practitioners. Learning through play is at the heart of our child- centred approach, aiming to promote independence, increase motivation and to nurture confident, creative, sociable and enthusiastic learners. We endeavour to create a strong partnership between home and pre-school, working closely with our families, other professionals and making links with our local community.
The Balanced System
As a team and a setting, we believe in supporting all our children’s speech, language and communication skills by providing a language rich environment full of stories, rhymes, songs and play with words that are of interest to children. Communication and language is an EYFS prime area which means that it’s one of the important building blocks for all the other areas in our curriculum. If it’s not developed early, it’s difficult to achieve later.
Post-Covid we have seen an increase in the level of need for some of our children and following a referral, the long wait to see a Speech and language therapist. We always want to do more and provide more for our children so, in September 2022 we enrolled on ‘The Balanced System’ project. The Balanced System supports children and young people with speech, language and communication needs. (SLCN)
